Special Vision Testing
Aviation vision exams require special testing and are only conducted at Naval Air Station North Island (NASNI) and Miramar Marine Corps Air Station (MMCAS) Branch Medical Clinics. Aviation screenings are performed for all aviation personnel periodically. These screenings assess visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, and eye pressure. A full exam is required if any test is failed during a screening.

Drivers License Renewal Exams
Many states require periodic vision assessments to maintain an active drivers license. A Drivers License Renewal Exam often consists of assessing visual acuity, visual fields (peripheral vision), color vision, and a slit lamp exam. Some states may require a dilated eye exam to rule out sight threatening diseases.
