This course is aimed to improve the overall health and wellness of its participants. As we discuss some of the most common chronic diseases that affect the American population, you will gain a greater knowledge of how to potentially decrease or eliminate risk factors with an application of a healthy lifestyle. Chronic diseases are the leading cause of death and poor quality of life, many in which are preventable. With this class you will have an opportunity to:
  • 1. Better understand metabolic syndrome, obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, prediabetes and diabetes.
  • 2. Understand the benefits of healthy living to prevent or slow disease progression.
  • 3. Identify and utilize tools for healthy eating, exercise, stress management and sleep management.
  • 4. Identify resources available to meet your health goal.
