1. QUESTION: CAN I BE DEFERRED OUT INTO THE NETWORK FOR PHYSICAL THERAPY (PT)?
Answer: Active Duty are required to been seen in the MTF clinics. They are only deferred to the civilian network when the service required is not available or when the clinic access to care exceeds required standards. The Physical Therapy Department is primarily serving Active Duty and beneficiaries for critical wartime skills sustainment. Other referrals are deferred to the network.
2. QUESTION: CAN I BE SEEN AT ANY CLINIC I WANT?
Answer: Active Duty patients should be seen at the clinic closest to where they are stationed. They can be seen at a location close to their home only if they are on convalescent leave.
3. QUESTION: WHAT IS THE ATTIRE FOR PT APPOINTMENTS?
Answer: Appropriate physical training gear or official PT uniform; no sandals.
4. QUESTION: HOW OFTEN WILL I BE SEEN FOR TREATMENT SESSIONS?
Answer: Your first physical therapy visit will be an evaluation. Your evaluating therapist will then determine how often you will be seen in clinic or if you will be given a home program only.
5. QUESTION: CAN DEPENDENTS RECEIVE CHIROPRACTIC SERVICES?
Answer: No, unfortunately chiropractic care is not a TRICARE covered benefit therefore our chiropractors can see only active duty patients. Dependents wishing to receive chiropractic care will need to pay out of pocket in the civilian network for those services.
