Occupational Audiology
Audiograms (hearing tests) are provided to Active Duty and Federal Employees who work in established Hazardous Noise Areas and are in the Hearing Conservation Program. This service is also provided when required as a component of a physical examination to establish personnel as physically qualified to perform their duties (i.e. forklift or crane operator, fire fighter, explosives vehicle operator).
Occupational Audiology does not provide care or treatment for traumatic injuries or conditions arising from other than hazardous noise. All others should be referred to Otolaryngology, Audiology Division. Audiograms can be obtained at all Branch Health Centers, the Mobile Occupational Hearing Conservation Audiometric Truck (MOHCAT) at Naval Station between Piers 6 and 7 and services are provided on a walk-in basis. Outpatient medical records are required for any visit.
