Practices
Both gynecologic and prenatal care are provided in the framework of small group practices within the hospital setting. Each group practice consists of a combination of OB/GYN medical doctors, nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, nurses, corpsmen, medical assistants and medical clerks. Women may choose to meet several providers in a particular group practice or may have the opportunity for continuity with one physician, midwife or nurse practitioner. Women experiencing normal pregnancies and those requiring routine GYN care may elect to be seen by the nurse midwifery team at our branch clinics at NTC or Miramar. All appointments with the exception of walk-in clinics (contraception at NMCSD and pap smears at NTC) require a referral for scheduling.
