Outpatient Mental/Behavioral Health
NMCSD Outpatient Mental Health is a multi-disciplinary department comprised of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, behavioral health technicians, trainees, as well as other ancillary and support staff dedicated to provide the finest mental health treatment to service members and beneficiaries.
NMCSD Outpatient Mental Health provides a full range of mental health services to include individual and group psychotherapy and psychopharmacology therapy for adults and children. Active Duty personnel and their children are the first priority to receive care through NMCSD.
Any active duty service member or beneficiary should initiate a referral to mental health care through their Primary Care Manager. Active Duty may also present to the Mental Health Operational Outreach Division (MHOOD) during walk-in triage hours, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., excluding holidays. If presenting at the self-referral station, a behavioral health technician will only collect that information necessary to submit a referral, in order to connect you to the best care to fit your needs.
In order to provide you the best service, please note the following:
- It is very important to plan ahead and arrive at your initial appointment 30 minutes before your appointment time in order to complete required paperwork. You will also be asked to complete several forms which allow us to get to know you and provide information regarding privacy and confidentiality.
- Traffic and parking often cause delays; plan accordingly.
- If you have questions, need to cancel, or need to reschedule an appointment, please call the front desk or the Central Referrals and Booking office.
- Please call 48 hours before the appointment to make changes.
