Comprehensive inpatient care for seriously ill or injured adult patient.

Special Services/Programs/Research

• All surgical specialties including cardiovascular surgery and all medical specialty care.
• Areas of interest, experience and active research include the early care of sepsis and ARDS.
• Additional research on noninvasive ways to monitor cardiac function.
• Other projects focus on the optimal treatment of abdominal infections and the use of growth factors to avoid blood transfusions in the ICU; further study of the use of growth factors in severe pneumonia and the use of IV antifungal therapy for serious invasive fungal disease.
