EXERCISE CLASSES

AQUATIC HEALTHY BACK​
The Aquatic Healthy Back clinic focuses on back, neck and hip issues. It introduces a variety of aquatic exercises focusing on various stretches, posture correction and core strengthening.
Wounded, Ill & Injured patients must be screen​ed and prescribed services by our Health and Wellness provider.

FIT MOTHERS YOGA​
Pre- and post-natal yoga classes will help to keep you and your baby healthy and happy during and after your pregnancy.
This is a gentle group class, open to all fitness levels and designed for expecting & new moms.
Open to all active duty and beneficiary mothers.

QI GONG
The Qi Gong clinic facilitates mindfulness and meditation for healing and stress reduction.
In addition, Qi Gong vitalizes gentle, fluid movements in order to release body tension while introducing gentle breathing exercises to facilitate deep relaxation.

RUN CLINIC
Run to support your good health and readiness. Enjoy increased flexibility and mobility by using various running drills and techniques.
This program offers support and weekly check-ins for accountability around your physical fitness. Lace up and join us! All running levels welcome.

SENIOR GENTLE YOGA
This program, for beneficiaries 55+, addresses the unique needs of seniors and is designed to give them the tools they need to stay mobile and active.
Yoga is a proven stress reliever. It can be helpful for reducing hypertension, and the weight bearing activity of yoga can help slow bone thinning, reducing the risks of osteoporosis, and improve balance.
No previous experience required. Poses modified for individual ability level. All yoga materials provided. A certified yoga instructor teaches this class.

SHIPSHAPE
ShipShape is the official Navy weight management program designed to equip participants with the skills and resources necessary to jump start a healthier lifestyle.
This 8 week program focuses on five core essential components for weight loss and management: mindset, eat clean & often, hydration, physical fitness and recovery.
Let NMCSD's ShipShape program offers you a unique experience like never before. This program is designed to assist active duty and reserve military service members, beneficiaries, and government civilians with making healthy behavior changes in order to lose weight.
Topics covered are:
Nutrition for weight loss and enhanced performance
Physical fitness
Positive psychology and creating lasting behavior change

STRENGTH TRAINING
Strength training focuses on basic exercises using different modalities ranging from free weights, total body gym, power ropes and body weight.
This clinic is taught by the MWR personal trainers and focuses on getting individuals back into a physical fitness routine after an injury.

YOGA
The yoga clinic teaches therapeutic exercises to develop strength, range of motion and flexibility.
The clinic also focuses on balance, coordination, kinesthetic sense, posture and proprioception for sitting and/or standing activities.
